Steve Allen, who oversaw executive redundancies at HS2, is leaving the company without a payoff
PRESS ASSOCIATION
The HS2 finance chief at the centre of a row over executives being paid off
with public funds is quitting — without a payout. Steve Allen oversaw
£2.76 million of redundancy payments at the high-speed rail link company,
£1.7 million more than was allowed by the Department for Transport. He
was one of the best-paid civil servants last year, with a salary of £415,000.
